Tasks:
We invite applications for a Bioinformatics position to support our high-performance computing (HPC) environment for deep molecular profiling analysis. The candidate will administer, manage, and develop several HPC and webserver environments at the Institute of Computational Genomics. Primary responsibilities include maintaining and executing a robust bioinformatics software infrastructure, managing large-scale computing resources, and providing technical administration for the Institute members' local desktop computers.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Computer Science or a related field
- Systems Administration: Proven experience in managing High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments and webservers, with specific proficiency in Linux and Bright Cluster Manager, as well as in-depth understanding of Continuous Integration and Quality Control concepts and their realization in an HPC environment
- Practical experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis, including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics workflows including but not limited to Illumina, Nanopore sequencing, single cell sequencing, 10x genomics spatial platforms (Visium and Xenium)
- A strong desire to work both collaboratively in a team and independently within a fast-paced, international research environment
- Proficiency in both English and German is required
